Program Description
Hundreds of refugee families are resettled in the USA from refugee camps abroad after a 2 year intensive interview process. These families arrive here with only the clothes on their backs, and are given on average one month’s worth of resources. With little language skills, cultural training, no transportation, credit history, bank account, health insurance or transferable employment history – they must find work, attend school and pay rent and for the necessities of life in the American economy.
One Light Global provides a warm welcome to new arrivals, household supplies, transportation, connection to employment opportunities, toys for kids, and other basic necessities and guidance to help these families integrate into their new home.
We also host trauma healing and cultural integration workshops.
