JOIN US AT HOPI NATION IN ARIZONA SEPTEMBER 10-12TH 2021

One Light Global has partnered with sovereign elders and children of Shungopavi (Soöngopavi) village of Hopi Nation, in a project to preserve traditional wisdom and regenerative practices, restore food security, and support cultural, ecological, and economic revitalization.

The Natwanhooyam project aims to bring the vision of the children and elders to life. The project includes building new agricultural and educational infrastructure using new and traditional building methods, dryland farming, seed saving, herbal medicine and plant wisdom, language preservation and cultural arts, as well as incorporating cottage industry, entrepreneurship, regenerative design, and environmental stewardship.

We are honored to invite you to join us September 11-12, 2021 to volunteer at the project site you have been supporting. It is a chance to show your love in action - to plant and build alongside Hopi elders and children, learn sustainable building techniques and innovative technologies, laugh, sing, and discover this culture together. Bring the family!

For the past year and a half Hopi Nation has been on lockdown due to Covid-19. The community suffered many losses and endured much hardship. So it is with an even greater sense of urgency that we are finally able to bring our donors and community together to bring this project to life that will benefit so many.
