A TON AND A HALF OF FOOD

Have you ever shopped for a week's worth of food for 1400 hungry people? Last night, after serving in the barracks, we did it with an Englishman, a New Zealander (he really got in over his head, he just wanted a ride to buy beer), a couple patient Serbians store clerks, google translate, charade skills, and lots and lots of muscle!

With your donations we were able to buy all of this -- and will be able to buy 2 more weeks worth of food as well - possibly more!

YOUR GENEROSITY IS LITERALLY FEEDING ABOUT THIRTY THOUSAND MEALS TO HUNGRY REFUGEES !

The looks of the store clerks as we asked for -- yes, 150 bags of lentils, and do you have 50 more bags of rice? and 10 huge jugs of olive oil, and 10 more of sunflower oil? And beans? Lots of beans? 20 kg of salt? Careening down the aisles with our overflowing carts and hearts to get more and trying to translate words like cumin and tomato paste were enough to keep us smiling and laughing even as our muscles ached.

It's mind boggling how much food and work goes into feeding so many people.

It's heart boggling to imagine how many amazing people contributed to making this possible.

It's is a blessing to be able to feed hungry bellies of our human family - and to feel so much gratitude for having a warm meal every day.

Thank you. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

It's like having the whole world around one huge dinner table. Can you imagine the possibilities??
